How To Update Google Chrome
It doesn’t matter what you do online, chances are you depend highly on your Internet browser. I know I definitely do. Most of my work is accomplished either in a browser or at least with one open. This is why I feel it is important for you to know 1. about Google Chrome, 2. that there is an update available and 3. how you can update your version easily!
1. About Google Chrome
If you haven’t tried the Google Chrome Beta yet (It has been released for a little while now) then I definitely recommend you do. Yes, it is just a beta and yes, you may not want to install it because of it’s Beta nature…but it (in my opinion) is a step in the right direction!
I am usually a Firefox user, I find it as being quick, feature packed and possibly best of all, stable. But now that I have been testing out Google’s new browser titled “Google Chrome”, I am enjoying it quite a bit. It has been even faster than firefox for me, has many new features and seems quite stable.
The new browser is feature packed in it’s own way, but does not yet (to the best of my knowledge) allow addons. I know, I know… how could they not allow addons for Google Chrome? Well I have heard that this may be in a future release, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed! If or when it does allow addons, I can see myself using it almost completely on it’s own. Right now I still use firefox because I use a few add-ons regularly.
** If you are Mac user, unfortunately Google Chrome is not available for you at this time. I am unsure if this is in the mix for the future, but Firefox is…so possibly this will be too. **
2. There is an update available
I think the headline here is kind of self explanatory, don’t you??
3. How to update Google Chrome without hassle (hopefully).
If you are currently using Google Chrome, or have it installed on your computer, I wanted to let you know how to update it. I stumbled on this when I was exploring the browser and thought you would appreciate to know how.
So without carrying this on too long today, here is how to update Google Chrome.
1. Open your Google Chrome browser.
2. Move your curser and click on the wrench Icon ( I have outlined in it red in the image below).
3. Choose the “About Google Chrome” option as outlined below
4. Choose the “Update now” button if it is available
4. You will then have to restart your Google Chrome browser and ta-da, all updated and ready to go!
I hope you find this informing. I only found out about this by exploring the browser and thought you deserved to know too!
I would love to hear what you have to say about the browser … such as your favorite feature. Why not leave a comment at the end of this article?
My favorite feature is how easy it is to separate a tab into a new window and then drag it back to make it a normal tab again…genius!
To Your Success!

From a technical perspective, Firefox can definitely keep up. Soon Firefox will have a much faster JavaScript engine, for example. But with Google’s visibility Chrome will easily grow a huge user base. They’re already advertising it on AdWords.
