Your business marketing - Jacked Up!!
Today I decided to bring back the basics so to speak because it is very easy to become overwhelmed with the sheer volume of information available online. Refreshing the basics (or learning new tactics) will not only increase your knowledge either, but can increase your income potential along with it. I say this increased potential can be “jacked up” because you can truly and honestly set yourself or your business up to achieve more profits than you are most likely accustomed to!
The Internet has opened a whole new world of possibilities for buying and selling. No more are you limited to selling your items in a brick and mortar building with the neighborhood residents as your only clientele. If your product is shippable, it can be sold anywhere, anytime, as the Internet never closes. Is building a website enough? Is just having a presence on the web going to increase your business? Well, no, not necessarily, but an attractive, easy to use website is the first step to increasing business and thereby increasing profits.
Once you have designed a website that is aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly, you must begin a marketing strategy that will get surfers to your site. If they never see those gorgeous handmade Christmas ornaments or your one of a kind picture frame design, they can’t buy them.
So how do you go about marketing both your site and your products? There are a variety of ways.
Services exist that allow you to purchase the rights to a certain set of keywords, so that when an Internet user types those words into a search engine, your website pops up in the list of “hits.” The key to using keywords is to choose the best terms; take a good outsider’s look at your product and imagine all the different things that item might be called. Use those as your keywords. As keyword marketing becomes more common, the prices of popular terms increases, however, so be careful about not overspending.
Email marketing is a method of Internet advertising that some entrepreneurs find invaluable. Essentially, email marketing is the act of sending out emails to customers or potential customers to increase customer loyalty or increase the number of new customers. The advantages of email marketing are that you can target a specific audience –one that has an interest in your particular product, relative low cost compared to more traditional targeted marketing such as direct mail, and the speed at which your message is delivered to customers.
Pay per click advertising is a method of advertising that only costs money if someone actually clicks on your ad. You know all those ads that pop up on websites or run down the right hand side? Well, when those “sponsor links” are clicked, the owner of that link is charged a fee. If you have an online business selling candy canes, you might consider creating an ad and becoming a “sponsor link.” That way, you have the potential to reach an infinite number of consumers, but you only have to pay for the ones who click on your ad.
The key to success on the Internet often depends on the soundness of your Internet marketing strategies, so put effort into your plan and consider hiring a professional if you need one.
To Your Success!
